■어제 나온 around(carry around)는 부사로써 여기저기란 뜻으로 쓰인거고 오늘의 around(around here)는 전치사로 ~주위에 란 뜻입니다. ■ 예문과 관련단어에서 except와 except for가 나왔는데 그 차이와 용법이 헷갈리죠? 제가 조금만 그 용법에 대해 설명해 보겠어요. 우선 except가 문장 제일 먼저 나올때는 except for를 써야해요. except라고 쓰면 틀립니다. 관련단어에서도 except for my father라고 썼잔아요. except는 전치사외에 접속사이기 때문에 뒤에 절이나 전치사, 원형동사, to 부정사가 나옵니다. 이런것들이 나올때 except for라고 쓰면 안되요. For 는 전치사이니 당연히 뒤에 명사나 동명사가 나와야 된다고 생각하면 이해하기 쉽겠네요. ■check out은 책을 대출하다는 뜻으로도 많이 쓰이죠 ☞I need to check out a book in the library.나는 도서실에서 책을 대출해야돼.
