오늘은 쇼핑센터에 물건사러 가는 대화이네용. ■mall은 big shopping center를 언급하는 거에요.■I'm broke. broke는 break의 과거지만 여기서는 형용사로써 빈털털이란 뜻입니다. break, broke, broken 이렇게 나갑니다.☞He broke the window playing baseball yesterday.어제 야구하다 유리창을 깻다 ■Let's just browse. 이말은 Let's just go window shopping 이랑 비슷하구요. 손님이 가게에 들어와서 물건을 보면 주인이 May I help you?하고 물어보면 손님은 I'm just browsing이나 I'm just looking이라고 말해요.■Don't tempt me. tempt단어보니 성경에서 뱀이 하와를 유혹해 선악과를 따먹게 하는 장면이 생각나네요. ■Seeing is wanting.견물생심이라 해석해놨는데 견물생심은 물건을 보면 (살) 마음이 생긴다는 뜻이죠. 백문이 불여일견이란 한자문장이 있죠?
