how about 은 상대방에게 제안할때 쓰이고 what about은 상대방의 의견을 물을때 쓰입니다. how about은 How would you like to~의 준말이고 what about은 what do you think about의 준말로 생각하면 이해하기 쉬울거에요. 근데what about you 와 how about you는 약간 그 뜻이 헷갈리는것 같아서 제가 좀 몇군데 찾아봤습니다.예를 들어보면 A. I really like reading New York Times. How about you? (Yes 나 No로 대답하라는것) B. Yes, I enjoy reading it, too. A. I really like reading New York Times. What about you? (너는 뭘 좋아하냐는것). B. I like reading Newsweek. 또 다른 예를 들면. A: I like Kimchi.How about you? 나 김치 좋아해. 넌 어때? (너도 좋아해?) B. Me, too(I like Kimchi,too) 나도(나도 김치 좋아해). A. I like Kimchi, What about you? 나 김치가 좋아. 넌 어때?(넌 뭐가 좋아?)
