1. 오늘 본문에 I can handle it. 나와주고 있는데요. 지난번에 어떤분께서 can't 와 can의 발음 구분하고 싶다고 하셨어요. 제가 가진 노하우는 "표정과 발음길이"에요. 무슨 얘기냐면, can't. 즉 부정을 얘기할땐 고개를 젓거나 인상을 찡그립니다. 또한 can't 미국식 /캐애앤/ 영국식 /카아안/ 처럼 T발음은 안들리지만, 긍정보다 약간 길게 발음하는 특징이 있습니다. 이 두가지로 충분히 알아낼수 있습니다. 2. in a minute//일분 후에. 지금 곧. in이 시간 앞에선 = "~안에"가 아니고 "~ 이후에" 3. inportant meeting? // ntm 자음 세개 in a row 연속되면서 중간자음 t가 발음되지 않고 있어요. 그리고 모음 e와 i사이에 t가 부드럽게 발음되고 있죠? 그래서 /인포올턴(잠시 쉬고) 미링/ 4. right after가 나오고 있는데요. without delaying의 뜻입니다. 비슷하게 just after, immediately, soon, right away등을 쓰실수 있어요. 5. ■ Could you join me~ Could 는 여기서 can의 과거가 아니라 can 보다 더 공손한 표현이죠.Can you join me~라고 해도 괜찮구요. In a minute은 soon이나 shortly로 대치해도 댑니다.■ Is this an important meeting? an은 모음앞에서 a 가 an으로 변한건데 사실 원어민 아니면 an같은 것 제대로 정확히 알아서 쓰기가 힘들어요. 저도 글 쓸때야 좀 신경 쓰기만 일상 대화에서는 a로 쓰는 경우가 많거든요.이런것을 틀리지 않을려면 자꾸 반복 연습하는 수 밖에 없어요. ■ There are some decisions가 나왔는데 make a decision 하면 결정하다이죠? decision에 s가 붙었는데 결단력이란 뜻으로 쓰이면 불가산 명사에요. 결정할 일들이 약간 더 있으면 s붙여서 복수로 쓰면 되구요. ■ I'll be there right after I'm done with this. 이문장은 I'll be there// right after I am done with this라고 끊어 읽어야해요. ■ I am done with는 지난번에 I am finished with this와 같은 의미라고 언급되죠.자주 쓰이니 반복되서 자꾸 나오네요 ■ Is there anything I can do for you?는 Is there anything I can help you with? 랑 대치할수있는 거구요.
