✒I can't tell if you're telling me the truth or not. tell동사가 2개 나왔는데 같은 의미로 쓰인게 아니에요. 전자 can't tell의 tell은 distinguish (구별하다)이고 후자 telling me의 tell은 '말하다'이죠. 성경에서의 the truth는 Jesus를 언급해요. 요한복음 14장 I am the way, the truth and the life.
